The movements in your leg are preserved very clearly suggests that your ligaments are intact.
For any partial tear and painful conditions if everything is normal we suggest you rest and anti inflammatory drugs with ice packs.
If it does not heal you would need some physiotherapy later and if not another consultation with the orthopaedician. Take care!
I went to my orthopedic Thursday and she read my mri herself because the radiologist says there is a tear but she says it could be normal because what the radiologist believe is a tear could be normal blood flow in adolescents. Plus my symptoms don't totally coincide with a tear. She believes my knee is completely normal. But I don't believe a normal knee should hurt this much. What could it be? I have popping, pain which is from soreness to sharp and stabbing and sometimes burning. It even occasionally gives out. But I am still able to do the leg extensions. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Your meniscal tear has not healed.
A meniscal tear would need a Robert-Jones bandage and immobilisation for 2-3 weeks for the recovery and followed by Physitotherapy.
If it does not help you have to go for surgery to excise the displaced fragment..
Arthroscopy would give your better diagnosis as your pain has not decreased since more that 6 months.
Go for an orthopaedician consultation and correlate the symptoms with the MRI. You have the choice to choose another Orthopaedician.
Take care!
