15 years of pain is long enough help!

I injured my right hip in 1996 and by 2003 I was bed ridden.  After seeing about 5 doctors all they could tell me is that I had arthritis and there was nothing they could do for me.  I begged and pleaded to have a hip replacement surgery but the doctor at that time stated I was too young.  I am now 50 years old, I have lost my job, lost my medical insurance, and my wife and I divorced and soon to be homeless with chronic hip pain.  The last doctor I went to performed bone density tests, mri, and xray's and stated that I have a fractured L1 and bone spurs in my right hip and arthritis.  But even he has not sent me to anyone who can help me.  I am frustrated.  I heard about a procedure done in Florida where they scraped your hips to clear bone spurs.  Is this the way to go?  any alternatives here?  I am out of clues on what to do now any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  I am way too young to feel this old and I need to get back to work.  Thanks in advance

I am sorry you have been through so much, can you get to the Mayo clinic-- they offer patient assistance so do not let lack of funds stop you. (You can get in w/o a referral.) You can either go to one of the clinics as a walk-in and try to get in or you can go http://www.mayoclinic.org/patientinfo/appointments.html and request an appointment.

I hope this helps,

I would search for clinical trials in your area.... that may open up some options.
