treating multiple orthopedic injuries

from a fall, injured both quads and both knees.  the left leg had a ruptured quad tendon and was repaired.  the doctor believes that until the left leg is fully recovered, it is not advisable to deal with the other leg.  i do accept this because he is the expert.  my questions are:  what is the logic for this strategy?  is there any published evidence of better results with this srategy?  many thanks f y reply.

In orthopaedics it is believed that the patient healing should be assissted rather than supported.
As you need movement, physiotherapy it is not good to completely confine you to bed.
So with repair of one leg and in cases where the other leg repair can be deferred it is good to go one by one.
This is not a documented rule and you can always discuss with your orthopaedician as it differs from case to case and also on the relation between a doctor and patient.
Remember you have a right to always go for a second opinion or a second doctor.
Take care!
