can you get ovarian cyst while breastfeeding ? ( no periods yet)

Hi gals ...need some help. I am 6 months pp and excessively breastfeeding , from last three months having left side abdominal pain . Went to gynec. he did ultrasound and said u have small ovarian cyst. He was very busy to give my answers just gave me a card to go and visit TDDC some Texas digestive consultant ( gastroentrologist). He thinks colon problem. I do have a history of endometriosis and hemorhhagic cyst. My question is can you get ovarian cyst while you are breastfeeding and ha my cycles are not yet back. I am having severe back pain , legs pain ,nausea on and off, fatigue and bloated.

HI,
Ovarian cysts are possible in the post partum period. But as the cyst is small it may not be responsible for your symptoms. Abdominal cyst on the left side can be because of colitis, pelvic infection or endometriosis etc.
Hope this helps.
