One week and counting....

So I've made it so far without this 13x9 cm ovarian cyst rupturing. My surgery is next Tuesday and I'm about paranoid that it will rupture. I'm taking it easy, but the pain still comes. What all pains do you feel with your cyst? Does it ever sting?

The hospital has a Graduate Medical Education program (of which I was not aware until I was in pre-op and they had already started sedation). So it appears that my organs were removed so that residents could meet their surgical requirements. I am still shocked that this was hidden from me.

Thank you both!! I'm taking it as easy as I can. I'm sorry krchelle that you have another cyst and in certain you're smart enough to know if it's grown or not. I hate hate hate that your going through it again! @Old before my time. I can't believe they removed all you're female organs. What was the reasons they gave you?? I will definitely check out the consent form much closer now. I can't lie in tempted to have them all removed because of women getting cyst literally months later on the other ovary. Thank you again for the support. Makes me feel less alone!

I had a 9.5cm cyst that did not rupture but I think it was leaking as I had some fluid in my pelvis. Unfortunately, my gyn removed all my sex organs even though the cyst was benign (per the frozen section done while I was in the operating room). Hopefully, your surgeon will remove just the cyst allowing you to keep your ovary (as well as your other parts). Be sure the surgical consent form matches your wishes.

Take it easy until surgery and you should be fine. I hope surgery goes well. Let us know.

Hang in there!  I was so worried about my 14 cm cyst rupturing as well, but I made it to my surgery and I'm sure you will, too.  Just take it easy...no exercising or heavy lifting.

With mine, I felt a dull ache most of the time and especially if I lifted something heavy like kids (I'm a preschool teacher).  I also felt a lot of pressure and crampy pain.  My most pain though came with having to use the bathroom (sorry if too much info!), I would get super sharp pains and had bowel and bladder problems with it.

I had that cyst removed in May and in October, I was told I had a 2 cm one on the other ovary.  I am having symptoms again and am sure it has grown.  I have an appointment tomorrow to check it out.  This time, I am in more pain.  It's still dull and achy, but just worse, and very tender to the touch.  Also, same bowel and bladder problems.

Good luck to you!  Keep us posted about how your surgery goes.
