Dermoid Cyst

I am 25 years old and I recently had a baby. When I was pregnant they found the cyst on my right ovary, they told me no problem if you have a C-section we will remove it then...wrong! I didn't have a C-section, I had him natural. Well after I had my son they realized that the cyst had doubled in size, they didn't seem like it was a big problem. 2 weeks later they called me in to have another sonogram and to find out it was doubled in size again. So I went to do the pre-op to find out they didn't accept my insurance for the procedure that I was having. Surgery has been cancelled. It has been 2 weeks since then and now I am bleedig extremely heavily. I want to go to the emergency but I can't,my family doesn't live close and I have a 3 month old and a 4 year old. I am trying to wait until my mother comes to town to help me but I don't think I can wait. I am terrified because when I was 21 I was told that I had signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. What should I do?

Is there a friend who can watch your children while you go to the ER?  If you are bleeding that bad, you need to be seen immediately.  I have never heard of an insurance company not covering a surgery to remove a cyst.  If I were you, I would call the insurance company yourself and find out if there is a doctor/hospital you can go to that they will cover.  Something needs to be done about your problems.  I'm so sorry you are going through this.

This is a terrible problem!  That cyst needs to be removed, the sooner the better.  You would have had the ideal chance at it if they gave you a c-section.  I do not understand why insurance would not cover this.  You could end up with a serious emergency with a cyst that size, and I'm not talking about cancer.  Just the sheer size and solid nature of it endangers surrounding organs.  But the risk of cancer needs to be ruled out as well.

What kind of doctor's office is saying insurance does not cover this?  You need a referral to someone like a gynecologist oncologist immediately.
