ovarian daughter cyst

Hi - i'm 43 and my US shows a 2cm cyst with a 1cm daughter cyst. Does anyone know what that is? I've been having alot pelvic pressure the past few weeks especially when I'm sitting. Is this due to the cyst? So uncomfortable.  How long will this last? I have another US in Dec.

Hi vivi1220, I hope you are feeling better. I too have some cysts and have a whole slew of bothersome symptoms--weight gain, painful bowels, sharp pain in rectum during period, bloating, bleeding in between periods. I'm going in for laparoscopic surgery on December 17th. I'm very nervous.
Have your cysts resolved? I hope so. :)

Thanks for clarifying - I had not heard of that before. Glad to hear they are simple cysts. I think I read that most cysts resolve in 2 or 3 cycles. Hoping they are gone soon along with the discomfort!

thanks for responding. It's not a dermoid cyst, it's a cyst that has another cyst within the cyst. It's 2 cm simple cyst and the one inside of it is 1.7 cm simple cyst. Can a cyst at this size cause symptoms? It all started in October after I ovulated. How long do cyst normally last, this is the first time I've experienced this.

Do you mean a "dermoid" cyst? Pain can come and go with cysts and each woman's experience is different so it is hard to say how long it will last. Let us know what your next u/s shows. Hoping the pain subsides.
