Got my surgery date

Well went and got the results of my CT scan yesterday and finally got a date for my surgery, only 3 weeks and 5 days to wait now.
I'm abit confused after my consultation yesterday though, when I got my US scan results they said it was a simple cyst and then yesterday my CT results said it is borderline ovarian tumour??????
I had all my question ready in my head and I expected to be told yes its as we expect a simple cyst, once he said that my results said it was borderline they all went out my head. He did say what type of tumour it was but can't remember for life in me what it was called, know he said that its a type that continiously grows and that after my surgery I will have regular check up's as there is a high chance of reoccurance in my other overy. Well if he manages to save it as there is a chance I will loose both.
Wish I could remember what it was called.

I am so glad you got your surgery date.  But, the exact type of tumor you have can only be determined surgically.  Doctors can make a guess based on your scan.  But, a borderline tumor is almost indistinguishable from an invasive malignant one on scans.  It takes detailed pathology to make that diagnosis.   It sounds good though that your doctor does not think it is an invasive malignancy.  There must be signs on your scan that indicate it is not invasive.  Borderline tumors are always complex.  So, I can see why you are a bit confused if your ultrasound indicated a simple cyst.  Well, at least you do have a surgery date and that will conclusively give you answers.  Good luck with your surgery!  Keep us posted on how you are doing!
