Ovarian nodule/cyst

I am a 30 year old female and have had ovarian cysts in the past.  They usually do and ultrasound and give me pain killers until it goes away.  But just two days ago they told me they found a nodule (sp) and that I needed an MRI.  I called my sister who is a nurse and she asked if it was cancer.  I got upset and scared because I never thought of that.  I don't have the MRI until 12/31 and would love someone to let me know what to expect.  Lisa

I agree with Laney. Try not to be too worried at this point, although, I can understand worrying. That is what women do.  Try to enjoy the holidays and then before you know it, it will be the 31st and you will have some answers. Good luck and let us know!

Hi there,
They found a nodule on your ovary? Is that right? Try not to stress, I know this is easier said than done. An MRI is a good step to take. Sometimes it is just really difficult to differentiate things growing on the ovary. It could still be a cyst and the reading of ultrasounds is very subjective due to the experience of the doc.  Take a deep breath. I too am a nurse and at this point there is no reason to "borrow trouble" Keep us posted
