Having a meltdown......

Hello...I just want to know if anyone has any similiar situation as mine....as I am so worried about ovarian cancer.

In June - I had ovary pain in left side....then moved to right side....then both sides...meanwhile constipation set in.

Started using laxatives to go...and could only go with laxatives.....(totally abnormal for me as I am always regular).

Suspected Ovarian cyst - as I have had them before....went to OB/GYN....she thought bladder/UTI infection...prescribed CIPRO (antibiotic) and also an ultrasound.

Ultrasound showed fluid on right ovary - evidence of possible burst cyst but was told this is normal. CIPRO did nothing.

Constipation continued into July....along with my abdomen now swelling up and NONE of my clothes fitting...also lots of pelvic pain.

Constipation kind of got better - although bowel movements were not back to normal in the middle of July.....

Pain, Swelling continued and my belly was so heavy I felt pregnant - it was hurting my back to carry it around.
Ovulation resulted in huge GOBS of fluid - more than I have ever seen before.

3 ultrasounds (including transvaginal) - normal. 2 CT Scans (one with dye) = normal, and one more round of antibiotics (Amoxclav) which didn't help.

OB/GYN decides it may be endometriosis and to a laproscopic surgery....goes in, finds no endo, tiny cyst on right ovary - and evidence of fluid from a burst cyst, removes one adhesion from C-Section scar and does a D&C because my periods after the baby were really heavy, and finally removed my appendix as they suspected chronic appendicitis.

After surgery pathology report stated my uterus cells were normal and my appendix had also been normal.

2 weeks later - supposed to be back to normal after the laproscopic surgery....but abdomen iwhile not as heavy as before...and not as big...is still not going all the way down. Some of the heaviness is gone....pelvic pain is still there, and I had the worst period of my life.

OB/GYN suggests seeing a Gastroenterologist and another ultrasound (both outside and inside)

See Gastroenterologist - get colonoscopy - it's normal
Get another ultrasound - there's a 2mm cyst on left ovary

Ovulated in August - was near death with the pain...it was the worst ever and I have never really had ovulation pain before. Had to take the painkillers left over from my laporaoscopic surgery.

Now OB/GYN - suspects something called Interstitial cystitis - because in the past month I have started urinating frequently and all my urinalysis's and cultures are normal.

Frankly I think he was getting annoyed with me popping up all the time still complaining.

So I go to a new OB/GYN for second opinion.....she does a bacterial swab (which no one else has done before) and there is a lot of pain in there - she said it was my cervix that was hurting me. I am still waiting on the results but meanwhile she has put me on Flagyl in case I have a really resistant infection.

She also told me to see a urologist - who has now scheduled and abdominal/pelvic MRI next week.

But lastly, I have an appointment this afternoon to get blood drawn for the new OvaSure Ovarian cancer test by Labcorp (it incorporates the C-125 plus 5 other markers) - as the new OB/GYN says that I do have similar symptoms but since I am 36 I am young for it and I don't have any immediate relatives with the disease.

My belly hasn't gone down since the end of June.....and the heaviness seems to be coming back.....does any of this sound like ovarian cancer?

Well, I am off to do that test....I am so worried I haven't really eaten or slept in weeks......I am losing weight but my clothes still don't fit.

Thanks for listening!

Lisa

Wow, Lisa, you have been through alot.  You are also being very proactive, seeing all the different doctors, that is wonderful.  Don't ever feel bad for going back to the doctor. They are the ones that are supposed to help us, not the other way around!!  See what happens with the blood test results and I would go back to the 2nd gyn., She seemed to have it going on more than the first one did.  Let us know what happens and good luck!

Thanks Joanne I am going to check out the Ovarian Cyst forum.

I have just been so distraught over all these thoughts of something terrible going on......I have a 2 year old daughter who I love more than life and all I think of is her and just can't function.

I guess I am not a very "patient" patient.

I did get the cancer blood test taken today.....now I have to wait for the results.

Thanks again for writing and the good wishes :)

You are having some symptoms of ovca, but the fact that nothing is showing up on all the scans and ultrasounds is a very good sign for you. Have you had a pap smear..it will not indicate ovca, but it could show something going on in the uterus area.  There is a ovarian cyst forum here that is excellent....there are alot of knowledgeable ladies on there, that could probably help more.  Good luck..I hope you find out whats wrong soon~~Joanne
