Does anyone else Blackout when they stand up?

For alittle over a month now when I stand up after just sitting for even 15 minutes, everything goes black even though my eyes are open and if I try to walk I look like a drunk because I cant see and I lose my balance. What is causing this? I really dont like it...

I used to have these years ago.  They are actually called brown outs.  They call them that because you don't actually pass out.  You're eyes are wide open and you can't see squat.  I have very low blood pressure and the doctor determined that I wasn't getting enough sodium in my diet. So, now I try to get enough natural sodium as prescribed by my doctor in my diet. She also told me I was hypoglycemic, which can cause me to shake and pass out.  So, go see the doctor, try not to stress too much and I'm sure it will be ok. Try a full body massage, or even a shoulder massage.  I always feel better after one.  I'll say a prayer for you

Although it could be blood pressure it could also be worry and stress.  I have read several of your posts and you are really working yourself up over all of this.  I know it is not easy to be calm while waiting but you really should try to do some tai chi or yoga to get a little more inner peace and "balance".  Getting all worked up doesn't help anything and it could exacerbate the situation.  Stress can manifest itself in a multitude of physical problems and when you see the Dr you want them to be able to diagnose your situation based on your real physical symptoms and if any of them are stress related it will be harder for them to say what it is.

Do ask about your blood pressure. Usually when we stand up, the blood vessels do their thing and adjust the blood flow but sometimes the system doesn't work well. Many people on heart meds experience this and are told to stand up slowly. Positional vertigo doesn't clear up that quickly.

I had the same thing a couple of times right before my surgery- they said I had low blood pressure. I had never had it before - but it also caused me to black out in the recovery room and after my op- scared the **** out of the nurse!

I thought it was all in my head (or pelvic, ha, ha,) because although I don't black out, I  definitely get dizzy and weave like a drunk.  Although I'm a little older, I've never had any problems like this BEFORE my pelvic mass was diagnosed.  Does anyone have a clue if it could be hormone-related?  I have found myself being very careful getting up, down or even changing directions as I walk around the house.
