Lost right ovary to a dermoid cyst and almost lost my left ovary to another...

Hi everyone. This is my second post. I am 29 years old and I lost my right ovary to a large dermoid cyst in 1996 (it had wrapped around the ovarian and destroyed all of the normal ovarian tissue). Just this last September I had laparoscopic surgery for another dermoid (8.2 cm in size) on my left ovary. The doctor was able to remove the cyst only and reconstruct my left ovary. I have had two normal menstrual cycles since the surgery. I really want to have a baby asap. The docor said everything looked fine once the cyst was removed, but I'm very nervous about the possibility that new scar tissue formed after this last surgery. I know that laparoscopic surgery tends to create much less scar tissue than open surgery, but I'm still worried. Anyone else have a similar situation that they can share... and have you had successful pregnancies after multiple surgeries?? Thanks. I appreciate any helpful words :)

I meant to write 1999 and  2003 for my pregnancies.  Sorry for the typo.

Ok, well, I have dealt with cyst most of my life.  I had a laparotomy in 1986 for a complex cyst and had many other cysts afte that.  I did have two successful pregnancies in 1099 and 2003.  In 2007, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  I am the minority in that I did have a malignancy.  But, you can definitely have many ovarian issues and still have healthy pregnancies.  Keep the faith, work with yoru doctor and conceive when you feel it is the right time.  It think you will be fine.    I had a repeat infection after my lap before I had two successful pregnancies.  I also used to worry about conceiving and healthy pregnancies. But, it did work out for me.  I hope it is the same for you.

Take care,

Shelly
