Ovarian Cist

I'm 30 years old and approx 2 years ago, I was told that I have a cist on my ovary. My period is very regular, falls every 28 days or either side but my last period which fell on the 20th June was extremely painful, especially on the 1st day. I haven't had cramps this painful for many years. I've noticed that my tummy is bloated and on the lower left side of my stomach, I can feel a tingling sensation under my skin, like an itchy feeling. At night, I get warm quickly and find that I don't need to wear alot of clothing to bed. I have been having headaches alot. I'm due for my pap smear but I am so scared at what they will tell me. Has anyone had similar problems and or symptoms?. Thanks.

Are you on any hormones to shrink the cysts?  The CTscan should atleast help show what kind of cysts you are dealing with.  The waiting is SO HARD.  Not all cysts require surgery but surgery is needed for a proper diagnosis if the Dr is concerned about what they see.  Did they do a CA125 test?  The test isn't always the best indicator but can give the Dr an idea of what they may be dealing with.  It's hard to relax and not worry but try to distract yourself and I hope you get answers soon!

Just a few weeks ago i found out i have 2 large cist on each ovary. In june i was at the beach one day and noticed a bump on my left side of my stomach as i was laying down (trying to get some sun). I soon realized it was not going away so I scheduled a pap and it came out normal. Soon after that i started getting this pain on my left side. I had an ultrasound done and my doc told me about the cist. I am 25 and i have no children. I am VERY worried and concerned if I will ever be able to have any. My life has been crzy as of late and now I am just waiting to get a CT Scan done so the doctor can see how the doctor will proceed. More than likely I will need to have surgery. Ugh.. life ***** right now.

Just thought I'd let you all know that the tests have come back all well, thank goodness! Thankyou for leaving messages, greatly appreciated. It's nice to know that even though we feel alone, there are people out there like yourselves that really do want to help and take the time to listen.

Many thanks, Michelle :-)

agrees ... found out the hard way the only way to effectively screen cyst on ovary is the transvaginal ultrasound
would have been nice if my sister told me about hers sooner ... shes 51 and having her second recurrence eventhough she has no ovaries
i called all the females in my family and begged them to ask for one even if they have no symptoms ... not an easy task since they are all mean as snakes

prayers n hugz n stuff

I am surprised that your doctor did not keep an eye on your cyst.  Have you been having abdominal pain, back pain, bloating?  Those are some of the common symptoms of a cyst.  The night sweats may be due to a hormonal imbalance.  You definately need to tell your gyn when you go in for your exam.  Like Angie said, ask for a tvus to see what is going on.  Hope all works out well.  Keep us posted.
Hugs,

Thankyou for replying to my many questions. They found my cyst while doing an ultra sound and said that if I felt any change, to let them know. I'm not sure if it is still there or not as they didn't say whether or not I should get it or have it monitored. I am trying to book an appointment with my GP, he can be a tad difficult to get a hold of.

Once again, thankyou so much, Michelle :-)

Hi,  you say you had a cyst on your ovary 2 years ago , was it being monitored with ultasound?  or did it just go away on its own? . Whatever you will have to tell your doctor about your new symptoms . If I were you , I would go for a pap smear and get an internal done to see if a cyst can be felt , if nothing is felt on examination ask for a transvaginal ultrasound , this detects cysts and fibroids etc and is a painless test.  Im sure everything will be ok,  most women have the odd blip and things straighten themselves out . Its always best to be proactive with your health . Try not to worry and good luck.

Please keep us posted , Best wishes Angie
