Ovarian Cysts.

Hi guys, I'm new to this website after reading all your supportive posts about having painful ovarian cysts. I'm 17 and I have been having problems with ovarian cysts since I was 16. Last January, I was 16, and I started feeling severe pelvic pain that wrapped around my back. The pain was so severe I laid on the bathroom floor and cried and cried. My mom then took me to my primary doctor who told me it was only a stomach bug and gave me medicine for the vomitting, and 'stomach bug.' Later that night I told my mom that the pain was not going away so she took me to urgent care where they did a urine test and said I had a UTI. The doctor at the urgent care gave me an antiobiotic and sent me home. Around midnight that night I started vomitting severely and was uncontrollaby shaking, plus the pain in my pelvic area was so bad I couldn't even stand up. My parents were so upset with the doctors around here they drove me 45 miles away to a childrens hospital, and all that hospital did was give me Morphine and send me back home. The next day my mom made me another appt. with my primary and he told me it was still a stomach bug. He told me to continue taking the medicine he gave me, ignore the doctor that told me I had a UTI, and drink a lot of fluid. Again, the pain came back and I was back on the floor crying and crying, so my parents decided to take me to the ER. At the ER they gave me Morphine and scheduled me a CT Scan w/contrast for the next morning. The next morning I woke up, did the CT Scan, and a day later my doctor called wanting to see us with the results. The results were that I had free floating fluid in my abdomen from what he believed was a ruptured ovarian cyst. So much for that 'stomach bug' huh? After that we switched doctors and the doctor I now see put me on the pill, I was on YAZ for about 4 months until I recently switched to the Depo shot. Within the past few weeks I have been feeling more severe pain in my pelvic area that reaches around my back, and returned to the emergency room Thursday night. The doctor in thr ER ran two ultrasounds, and a CT Scan. That night they found nothing and told me to follow up with my primary on Friday. So on Friday we went to my primary and she told me she had the official report from the radiologists and they said there was more free floating fluid in my abdomen, which my doctor believes is again from ovarian cysts. She has recommended me to a Gynecologist to see what we can further do, but I'm worried. One of my mothers friends started talking about Endometriosis and all of this talk is starting to freak me out. I know we have to see the Gynecologist before we find anything out, but I'm just getting worried about what could be going on. What can they do for ovarian cyst treatment and also for Endometriosis, because I'm not too sure about any of this stuff. Can anyone help me out?

If you can, thank you so much! I want to meet Mr. Right and have children, so all of this is stressing me out. Thank you for any knowledge you have, Sarah.

Most likely, they will start you on the pill so you have a normal cycle and have less of a chance of growing cysts. I have the same problem, and don't have endometriosis. I wouldn't worry until you see your gyno, it sounds like the issue for you will be getting your cysts and hormones under control. Best of luck, keep us posted!

I talked to my primary physician and she has set up an appointment for me to see a Gynecologist this Tuesday. She said they will most likely run multiple tests, so once I talk to my Gynecologist and finish any tests that she may run on me, I will let you know more! My primary was also wondering if I also have stomach issues so she put me on Zantac and if that doesn't work well, she's also referring me to a Gastrointerologist. I'm having too much fun with doctors, ha! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family! Thank you for the support.
