Ovarian cyst negative endometrial biopsy

I just had an endometrial biopsy and a polyp removed from my cervix. Both were benign but an ultrasound showed a 3cm cyst on my ovary. I am 52 years old and post menopausal. These test were all done as a result of a full period after having gone 2 years with no periods.  Could this be ovarian cancer even though the biopsies were benign?

I am in a similar situation...8 years no period, bleed in Jan and april. Had hysteroscopy and D&C endo biopsy was fine, found a polyp. I have a 2.2CM cyst on my right ovary. It is a complex cyst meaning it will not go away. I have been experiencing weight gain and a large belly with slight cramping and hip and thigh pain. I see the Doc today to discuss possibly removing the right ovary and tube. Although she does not think it is causing my symptoms, I certainly do because I had no symptoms, large belly or weight gain prior to the bleed in January,
Soooo... I was also given a blood test called CA-125 to screen for ovarian cancer. Perhaps you could get that test and ask what type of cyst it is (functional or non-functional). Best wishes!
