Possible 3rd cyst since Jan 2010??

Hey everyone, I have been following the boards for awhile now. I love having support, knowing that I am not alone in this huge (literal) pain! I had a 5cm complex cyst(right)  removed Jan 28 2010, no problems and was fine for a few weeks. Then around mid March I started having that awful feeling, sharp stabbing and constant. I went back to the Dr. and sure enough another cyst 5cm on the same ovary. I had my last surgery on April 5th, and now I have that pain again. I am going back to the Dr. today to see if I do have another one. Has this happened to anyone else? I did have an infection after my last surgery, and she said I did have a little bit of fluid around my right ovary. Could this be causing the intense pain I am feeling? I am a mom to 2 small kids, and am not even back to being 100% from my last surgery. They removed my IUD during my last surgery thinking that was possibly causing them. I tried Depo (and if I am still married in 3 months I WILL NEVER do it again) and they told me that basically shuts down your ovaries so I should be cyst free. Any help or imput would be greatly appreciated!

I had large simple cyst 5 cm on lt ovary this year. Very painful. It went away after 2 months. I too had Iud placed for irregular bleeding this year. I am 50,Have had pain issues and cyst since Iud.  I am waiting it out to see what happens next, I might remove Iud-mirena due to above issues. I took Vicodin, heating pad use. Feeling little better and am crossing my fingers. Hope you feel better soon.  I read Iud can cause cysts.Good luck

WOW you poor thing, you have been through so much in a few months.  I would be getting aggravated if I were you.  Why did they not take the ovary at your last surgery?  Was your last cyst complex too?  If you do have a cyst, I would recommend that they remove the ovary.  Also, I HIGHLY caution you against Lupron shots too.  I have been told that they cause HORRIBLE side effects.  When do you go see your gynecologist again?  Please keep us posted.  Good luck!!

PS, you may want to try a heating pad on your back and stomach, it may help with the pain
