Removal of large cyst on ovary

I am apparently going to have a large four inch cyst removed on my ovary.  No one seems to be telling me much and it just seems like it is taking a very long time.  Two weeks between doctor visits.  Apparently it will take two surgeons.  What can I expect for recovery?  It seems like I am tired all the time.  At times my stomach is upset and my bladder often hurts as well.  Any advice is appreciated.

Hi 444penguins.
Just to let you know that this is a prolapse forum.   I do feel that the lady above has a good suggestion regarding getting more information about your condition and if you feel blocked from both this info as well as treatment options you may decide to get a second opinion.
Let us know how you get on and consider posting in the Gynae forum as well

It's concerning that "no one seems to be telling me much." You deserve to be told everything about your condition and treatment options.

I was in your shoes 11 years ago with a cyst about the same size. Even though almost all cysts are benign (non-cancerous), including complex ones, my gyn used scare tactics and was deceptive about my condition and treatment options. My cyst was benign but he ended up removing all my sex organs anyway. He even waited for the results of the frozen section during surgery but then removed my uterus and other ovary when it came back benign. He should have removed JUST the cyst and then sewn me back up when the frozen section was benign. I have been paying the cost with many of the medically documented negative effects ever since.

Were you told the type of cyst and its characteristics? Have you gotten a copy of the imaging report(s)? Many cysts resolve on their own within a few months but being that yours is on the larger side, the chances are likely slim it will go away. And with your symptoms this may not be an option.
