Sorry I've been gone so long....

Hi everyone, I was a dedicated poster on here this summer.  I had my 9th surgery in 8 years in July.  I had surgery for a condition called ORS (ovarian remnant syndrome).  My gyn was 99% sure that she got the remnant out so I should be good to go.  Well, not so lucky.  I had an FSH test done last week (due to having NO menopausal symptoms) and found that I definately have ovarian function again.  My FSH level was 13.9 which is great for someone who has ovarian function.  I have been havig pains so I went to my pcp on Friday and he is sending me to yet another OBGYN.  I am a bit apprehensive because this doctors response when my pcp called him was.....Just give her a shot of Lupron.  WTH????  He has not even seen me yet and he wants to start giving me shots of Lupron?  I have decided that I WILL NOT take any shots until I have a CT scan done.  My husband and I pretty much decided that Lupron is not for me (too many horrible side effects).  Plus, it will only get rid of the problem while I am on the shots, and thery are not even sure it will work then.  Has anyone had any experience with Lupron or have ORS????  I fear I am looking at a 10th surgery.  THe scary part is that my abdomen is so full of scar tissue that it took the dr an hour to clean it up and when she did, she ripped my bladder (had to come with a cath for a week) and had to take my bowels out of my body to clean them.  More surgery just means more scar tissue.  I also want to keep an eye on the cysts that I do develope just to make sure they remain non cancerous.  Sorry for such a long post.  I just want to say that I am sorry that I have stayed away so long.  I am not sure why, but I just needed a break.  I just want you to know that I will be more dedicated in trying to get on here and maybe giving some insite to some posts.  The good Lord knows I have had a ton of experience with cysts and surgery.  Hope everyone is well.  Kasie

Hi Kasie...here you are!  = )

Keep doing your homework and don't let them push you around.  I totally agree with getting a CT first and then go from there.  I'm so sorry you're going through this.  My gosh...your poor little body has been through a lot in the past years.

Don't stay away too long anymore...you need support.  I know your husband is there but, you know what I mean.

Hi Kasie.  So good to have you back but not under the current circumstances.  I totally understand your reluctance to take the Lupron.  I'm so tired of doctors giving me drugs that just make me sick with something else.  If they do another surgery will it be a hysterectomy?  I have really bad scar tissue too and they couldn't give me the hysterectomy I wanted with my cyst surgery because all the organs are glued together.  I do hope that isn't an issue for you.  You might want to try out Mary's ball rolling ahead of time to see if it improves the situation.  Take care and keep us posted.

I too, thought everything was just fine and you were busy. So I am sorry to hear this latest news. Why do doctors always want to prescribe something? I hope that you don't go through a 10th surgery (how have you handled all that?).  Let us know when you find out. I hope someone will read your post that has experience. I can only offer prayers! I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this..I remember you well from earlier and I just thought everything was "hunky dory" and you just had gotten busy ! I agree with your assessment. I think Dr's generally are just to eager to prescribe something !! I surely hope you're not facing more surgery.. but hang in there and keep us posted.

Take care,
Sandy

Gosh, honey, I've never had shots of lupron or ORS, but I"m very sorry you have to go through all of this.  I hope you feel better soon and I wish you a speedy recovery from any possible future surgery, which I hope you don't need.  But you've been very strong through this so I know you'll get through anything.  Good luck!
