Update #2 on GIna

Hi everyone.  I got another update on Gina on Wednesday, but I was not feeling well (have not slept a good nights sleep in over 4 days now) and I didn't check my e-mail until just now.  I think you will all be happy with what her husband has to report.  Gina is definitely a fighter and is on the mend!!

To All,

Yesterday, Tuesday, Gina had a very rough morning getting the pain medication right. She was not a happy camper till the Doctors got the pain meds right.

Today, Wednesday, two days after surgery and Gina is finally starting to feel better. Last night the nurse removed her nasal stomach drain tube. Today they removed her catherater. These are seemingly baby steps but mean alot to our patient! Today is a much better day.

Speaking of steps, yesterday Gina was able to take three short walks down the hall. Two longer walks around the corridor so far today.

The doctors and nurses are pleased with Gina's progress so far. Soon she will be able to start taking food again. If Gina continues to progress at this pace, she may be able to return home by Friday or Saturday.

Thank you one and all for the numerous supportive phone calls, get well cards, emails and prayers. They all mean so much to both of us.

Gina keeps talking about going to Outback when she gets out of here, I think that means she is on the mend!!

That is terrific news. Just getting rid of the tubes would make her feel better. Those are just yuck!  Going home today or tomorrow is even better. I'm so glad things turned out well for her. I love a story with a happy ending.
