need more insight

It's a long story butt I'll try to sum it up the best i can. For 3 years now I have had pain in my abdomin I whent to see the doctor 2 years ago he told me i have a cyst in my right ovary but it was ok i was too young for it to be a problem (i was 24 then & had aready had half of my cervix removed due to pre-cancer cells that were found & my family has a history too) Anyways, needless to say the cyes never whent away the pain has gotten worse it is no longer centralized like befor and the pain is notthing like ive ever felt in my life so when i final was able to get medical insurance again i when to my doc again he handed me the results of my ultrasound for the first time and said take this to an OBGYN i saw that the cyst was larger than a golf ball wich was scary since the pain had gotten worse i feared it was getting bigger but then i noticed that it also read that my right ovary was 7x16in why is this if the cyest is only 31/2 in. I'll be seeing a diffrent OBGYN on thurs but for some reason this buging me any ideas?

I would have no way to know that as were just regular ladies here that have had cysts and had cysts removed but we're just can't speculate on medical questions like that. It's good your seeing the doctor on Thursday, he/or she, can answer your questions and give you a treatment plan. I haven't ever seen a posting where the ovary was measuring as much as 17 inches, but that's just me and like I said, I'm not a doctor. I just hope you got your conversions right because that would make me want answers fast too. If you are experiencing very bad pain all I can tell you is to go to an emergency room if it happens before your appointment.

thank you very much, I converted the cm to inches so i had a better idea of the size of my ovary. I looked up diffrent types of cysts but notthing helped answer my qu. do you think by the size of my ovary that may be it was already enlarged then the cyst fromed?

Are you sure it say the size in inches and not cm's as usually those are the measurements used in an US report. Maybe the cyst is also inside the ovary and causing it to enlarge. Some cyst can occur both inside and outside the ovary. Take a look at the Health Pages on the top right of the cyst community and inside you'll find a link to Cyst information. There's a lot of links to use to read up on all the different types of cysts.
Let us know how you make out at the doctor on Thursday.
