Thanks for your advice i will certainly ask my doctor about being referral to a gastroenterologist as the pain is making my life a misery :(
I know how you feel about pushing an issue when a doctor makes light of it. But, you know your body best and should keep pressing for answers. I think you should also ask for a referral to a gastroenterologist in addition to the gynecologist. That way your bowel and stomach can be checked. Hang in there! :)
I have now had an x ray on my hip and the blood test i have had have indicated i am going through the menopause, however the doctor said he cant give me anty thing for it until i have seen a gyno which i dont know how long that will be i have been waitin 3 weeks for an appointment to be made .
I think what you say is so right pain is a good indication of something not right however i feel silly as the doctors just keep telling me this cyst would not cause the pain and i am desperate to find out what it is thank you agian for you advice .

I know doctors often indicate that smaller cysts don't cause pain. But, I do believe that they do. I struggled with cysts most of my life and I could tell when I had ones of that size. Sometimes, birth control pills can help shrink cysts sooner than your body can get rid of them. It is common for them to last for months.
Your bowels can also cause pain that is similar to period cramps. I see you are 49 and in the UK. Beginning at age 50 in the US, all are encouraged to have a colonoscopy. Problems within the bowel are often not able to be visualized by other types of scans.
Also, your body may be going into menopause and the hormonal changes may be causing your pain. Be sure to keep investigating until you find answers or relief. Persistent pain is a warning sign that our body needs attention. Good luck on finding answers!

thank you can i ask you how long did the cyst take to resolve and did you have any treatment to help it to dispurse ?
Probably so, I had a 2.5 on one side and a 2 cm on the other and it was very painful for me. After the cysts resolved the pain went away. Good luck
