could this pain be a cyst?

Hello.  I have been having very low right sided pain since last night.  It is intermittent, but sharp.  I do have my period right now.  It is not getting better as the day goes on, if anything it is becoming more pronounced.  When I was pregnant with my daughter in 2007, at the first ultra sound the tech mentioned she saw a small cyst on my right ovary.  Nothing was ever mentioned again.  Could it be that cyst she mentioned has grown?  I am thinking if the pain does not stop by tomorrow that I will call the doc.

Thanks for any comments!

It could be the cyst, yes.  It might also be breaking down/rupturing, which is going to hurt for awhile until the body reabsorbs it.
