cysts

i am really worried my mum is 57 and just recieved a letter saying that she has bilateral ovarian cysts, she cant see a doctor just yet until her appointment which is a couple of weeks away, can you please tell me should we be worried about this and is it cancer, anything you can tell us would be so much appreciated, thank you

thank you for your reply, my mum is diabetic and had problems with her kidney, she had ultrasound and ct scan and an mmr and then told she got bilateral cysts in her overies and needs urgent appointment, we have been thinking the worse, but i hope you are right and that we shouldnt worry, i will let you know what happens and thank you again

No need to panic ...Even we older ladies get cysts .. How were these cysts diagnosed-- an Ultrasound ? I'm sure when she meets with her Dr. he will advise her on the best course of action. I'm older, and they still suggested I keep an eye on mine  for a few months to see if they disappeared.. so that may be an option.

Don't worry.. cysts are 95% benign.. Let us know...
