PCOS I don't have a lot of knowledge on but for Endometriosis there is no way to confirm on any test that you have it. The only way is through an exploritory lap surgery. You must have an Endometrioma (blood filled cyst) which is making her believe that you have Endo which is an indicator but not a legitiment diagnoses.
What they would do is they would make three incisions one in your belly botton, and one on each side of the lower pelvic area. (You can look in my pictures to see what I mean on my profile) They would remove the Endo and cysts and take biopsies which is normal to do, and they would put you on some sort of treatment plan. For PCOS I am not sure what meds are used but for Endo they would recommend Lupron which would put you into menopause to stop the periods from coming.
I personally will never go back on Lupron again do to the extreme side effects I had with it. I take a low dose BCP every day without a break and it works for me.However Endometriosis will grow back so you need to make sure that whoever does the surgery they do Excision (cutting out) not just laser. Someone who knows the disease and has experience is your best bet as most Gynos don't have enough knowledge of this disease and will give you false information. It is sad but it is true. I am living proof. It took 17 yrs for me to be diagnosed and it caused severe damage to my bowels, bladder and ureters. My first surgery was a success as I had the right dr operating on me. Was on the pill to suppress my periods along with bouts of various Endo meds and I just had another surgery this last feb. Minimal Endo lots of adhesions.
I don't want to scar you I just want you to be informed on the "what to expect" I will post the same info on the Endo forum as well.
