i had a right salphingooophorectomy and now have a myoma, is there a possibility for me to still get pregnant and have a baby?

Hi Dr. Goodman, i am so depressed and almost losing hope.. i wanted to conceive and have a baby but after two years of marriage, i just can't get pregnant. i had a right salphingooophorectomy 3 years ago due to ovarian cyst. then 2 weeks ago, after undergoing transvaginal ultrasound to check if im ovulating, they found out that there's a nother small cyst growing again in my left ovary at the same time there is also myoma growing in my uterus. what can i do? i wanted to get pregnant and have a baby before they cut and remove again what's left in my inner reproductive organs. what shall i do? is there any way? thanks and waiting to hear from you. Godbless!

I just wanted to mention that the Ovarian Cysts Community forum is actually separate from the Ovarian Cysts Expert forum.  It is rather confusing and I didn't want you to be waiting for doctor Goodman's reply and not understand if she doesn't respond to you.  If you would like to hear from the doctor, go to the forum main page and click on the expert forum under Ovarian Cysts, which is on the right hand side of the page.  Good luck.

Did you ask the doctor who found these things the questions you are asking here?  Certainly they do their best to treat you so that you can still have children.  But you don't know if you don't ASK someone that is your actual caregiver.

Many women have ovaries and other parts removed because that's want they WANT when discussing their options (mostly to prevent problems from happening again and because they already have families or choose not to have them).

A small cyst may be small enough to not be a problem.  A myoma is a fibroid and you don't say how large.  I have no personal experience with fibroids but it looks like they can be removed successfully if removal is recommended and you want to remain intact.  How bad was the cyst on your right ovary that they felt it was necessary to remove both cyst and ovary?

Mostly we help people to understand what to expect once treatments like surgery are chosen, but the patient-specific questions only the doctor can answer.  Try to remain calm and seek your answers.  It may not be as bad as you fear.
