HI,
Absence of periods for a few months is usually followed by painful and heavy periods. The FSH levels are high in women approaching menopause. However the cause of severe kind of pain in the pelvic region needs further assessment. The pain can be temporarily relieved with help of medicines like anti-inflammatory agents and anti-spasmodics. Once the pain becomes less a pelvic examination and an ultrasound scan will help make the diagnosis. Ovarian cysts (rupture or torsion), and endometriosis are the major causes of pain. Consult your gynaecologist for an evaluation.
The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
