ovarian cysts

i have a blood filled cyst i found out today--besides ibuprofin 3 times a day what can i do to alleiviate some of pain?   And is this an early sign of ovarian cancer or are people freaking me out???? Please help

i have a 5cm blood filled cyst diagnosed after fetal tissue remained in me after abortion due to chromasone problems ( not out of choice) now will this affect future fertility or should it just subside ? i am at my wits end i dont have much pain if any just like a trapped wind feeling sometimes my docs didnt seemed concerened at all but me wanting another baby asap has now really worried me , some advice needed please as i want to start trying for a baby again as soon as i have my next cycle

It would be very unlikely that you have ovarian cancer.  Unfortunately, both benign and malignant cysts can cause similar symptoms.  It sounds like your cyst is simple (fluid filled) which is not how ovarian cancer shows on a scan.  You would likely have a large (5cm or greater), complex mass (has solid parts).  

Cysts can really hurt!  They also can persist.  Heat was always very helpful for me.  Both hot baths and microwave heat packs can get you some pain relief.  But, if the pain persists, you should go back to your doctor see if anything has changed.  If your cyst has grown or changed, it could account for the pain.  Sometimes, doctors will give your birth control pills to try to help reduce the cyst and prevent others from forming.
