im 24 with a 8cm ovarian cyst

I need surgery to take out my test but my obgyn is doing it not a oncologist. When I asked if i needed the onoc she said no because she doesnt think my cyst is cancerous. IM very scared she told me my ca125 was slight eleveated at 33 and normal ranges from 0-35 .I really hope I dont have ovarian cancer. She said it could be a endometrois cyst that why its elevated. I have another app with a obgyn to get a second opinion to see if she would prefer i go to a onoco. If anyone has had a cyst and had the test done it was elevated but they DID NOT  have  cancer pls share your story or even if you did and your levels of the test. Im worried sick I want to be able to have kids ...at least one.

My CA-125 was slightly elevated`--`just outside of the normal range.  My cyst was 6cm and my OBGYN was pretty confident it was just an endometrioma...and it was.  The surgery was my first and it was pretty easy.  At your age, I wouldn't be worried about ovarian cancer.  Lots of things elevate the CA-125.  Sounds like you are in good hands.  Everything will be fine, you'll see.

Oncologists are not surgeons.  Relax - you are seeing the correct type of doctor for this surgery.  This is probably a benign cyst.  Worrying about it won't help, so just decide it's a benign cyst until you hear otherwise.
