I'm so glad everything turned out to be benign!!! :) Yes...I know what you mean about wishing life was simple again. It does sound like you are on the road to recovery! Best wishes for your other ovary picking up the pace and leaving you in hormonal balance! :)
i spoke with the surgeon on the phone yesterday and they did, indeed, remove the fallopian tube and the ovary. the dr also mentioned i had some kind of antibody that could have been caused by a termination i had when i was 18. apparently this antibody could cause problems if i were to get pregnant and the father would also have to be tested. he said the name of the antibody but i really couldn't understand. it was like tk1 factor or something like that.
i don't plan on having any children anyway, i'm 38 and too many risk factors for the child scare me.
otherwise, the tests came back benign (yayyyyy).
ska4life--that torsion must have been extremely painful, i've read about that happening with cysts. i'm glad you're through with it. and i agree with you: discussing questions and worries on this site helps soooo much.
hi glad to see your over your surgery i had the same op 3 months ago i had a dermoid the sise of an orange that twisted and caused the fallopin tube to knot that cut the blood supply off to ovary and the ovary died, like you i was unware i had it and had no information but i must say the wealth of support and information i got on this forum was better then any doc ,i wish you a speedy recovery any way i can help you i will x
thanks for your answer. i seem to be recovering alright, the incisions on the outside don't hurt (except for the one in my belly button) but there's a lot of "deep"pain. like in my insides. i suppose that will continue until everything is healed.
i'm a little fearful of the rate of re-occurance of these dermoids. i had never heard of them until i was diagnosed with one and now i read about women who get more later in life and need another surgery to remove them.
oh, i wish life was simple again and i could just play with my barbie townhouse with no worries.
thanks hopeshell
