surgical clips

In Januray I had a Hysterectomy done. Well they were supposed to take my left ovary and leave my right ovary. After my surgery I had problems and called the doctor, because I had swelling on my lower left side. The gave me meds. to reduce the swelling. Upon my post visit he had me get a sono gram. It showed I had several surgical clips, my left ovary was still there and sever scaring of tissue. He stated that it was normal and I would be find. I keep having pain , went to my family doctor he stated I needed to go back. The doctor who did my surgey in the first place would not see me no more. I was sent to a new doctor in another town. That did the surgey and came to find out that I had masive scar tissur, liasons and massive cycst on the ovary that was to be taken out the first time was not., He stated he don't what they did the first time but I was a mess. Everything was stuck together. Now when I have to go to the bathroom I don't know , I just fell full and thats when I know I have to go.

Like Becky has said, sorry to hear about the issues, most of us do have surgical clips and many on this board are facing much tougher issues.  This forum is about and for Ovarian Cancer.

There are others forums that might better suit your needs, such as women's health.

Good luck to you.

I'm sorry to hear about all your post surgical troubles. Unfortunatley, some people have to deal with scar tissue more so than others...I don't know why. I will say it's totally normal to have surgical clips left in after surgery - they use them to clamp bleeding blood vessels and to tie things off...they have to get left in. I know, from looking at my x-rays and CT scans, I have many, many clips in my abdomen. I actually had one works it's way out of my body, but I haven't had trouble with them since then.
I hope you get some relief soon but in the meantime, you should google adhesions and see if you can find some ways of managing the pain better. I hope this new doctor takes some action to help you with that cyst...
Best of luck,
Becky
