Nabothian cysts are fluid filled cysts that occur on the cervix (the opening to the uterus). I have a few of them, as well as a history of ovarian cysts and a dermoid that is going to be surgically removed in a few weeks time. Nabothian cysts are different from ovarian cysts in that you don't need surgery but you can have your doctor do an internal exam and biopsy them. From what I've read (you can google them for info) they are common as we age and generally harmless -- altho I do keep an 'eye' on them -- which in this case you can't literally do!!, so I feel them while in the shower on a semi-regular basis to see if they feel any different. If they ever did change or hurt to touch I would mention it to my doctor and I would recommend you do the same.

I'm curious, what medicine did your doctor give you? I have never heard of medicine to treat them and wonder if I'm missing an important piece of the puzzle :-P

HI,
Also, isn't that type of cyst on the cervix? or Uterus ?.. Where did your Dr. say it was located? We had another post about this a few months ago, and it seems to me she had one on or near her cervix. You may also want to check out the "Women's Health Forum"

Sorry I can't be of more help..

Hi, I'm sorry I cannot tell you what that cyst is.  Just wanted to point you toward the Health Pages, located at the top, right hand side of this page.  There is a lot of information about cysts that I hope will help you.

You should discuss your plan for future children with your doctor.  If possible, they may be able to take the cyst only if surgery is needed.  You don't give too much information about what you've already been through, such as the time frame and tests you've had, age.  If you need to come back to ask more questions, the answers to those may be helpful.

Take care!
