Questionable drug test result for pain management program

Take Ativan 1mg 3 times daily for over 3 years all my screening drug test results have been positive for benzodiazapenes which is consistant with my medication, but a GCMS confirmation came back negative for Benzo's.  Is this normal?

I am seeing a Dr. for pain management for 2 1/2 years, but have been on Ativan from my Physciatrist for over 3 years, take it faithfully.  Benzo's have always shown up positive on the screening drug test done in pain clinic which is consistant with my prescription, however on this particular test it was sent off for further testing for drugs and alcohol.  I have never been tested for alcohol before.  I don't drink alcohol at all, on too many meds!  Drug test confirmation came back negative for Benzodiazapenes and positive 3.1 for alcohol.  Basically I do not think that this is my specimen, they do not follow chain of custody in the clinic, I know because for 15 years I was an office manager and certified drug and alcohol trainer and collector.  I went county wide traing and certifying Doctors and medical staff on the proper chain of custody procedures.

What do you think?

Lab screwup. Not unusual.

If you don't drink then this can't be your specimen and I would request a second test be done.  They do make mistakes, so fight to get this corrrected.  Good luck and take care.
