Could you clarify the site and cause of the narrowing. Stenosis (i.e.: narrowing), as mentioned by Tuckamore, occurs in the spinal canal itself as well as in the neoronal foramen (exit holes from nerves coming out of the spinal cord). The underlying cause (if known) and specific site will guide therapy choices.
Hi Steve,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post.
There are no exercise remedies for stenosis (narrowing) of the spinal canal. We all know that exercise is a healthy lifestyle choice... however given your diagnosis a specific activity and exercise plan should be developed by a reputable Physical Therapist.
I am not comfortable making suggestions and no one other then a PT should offer ones either. This doesn't include walking. Most ppl can add a little more walking in their daily routine without causing any harm. However you should still consult your PCP and request suggestions. He may actually refer you to PT which would be the most beneficial.
I wish you the very best and hope that you will seek professional advice. But please keep in touch and let us know how you doing. How are your pain levels? I'll look forward to hearing from you soon.
Take Care,
~Tuck
