PAIN MEDICATION

I HAVE BEEN ON 4 80 MG. OXYCONTIN FOR SOMETIME NOW AND JUST HAD MY PRESCRIPTON CHANGED THIS MONTH TO OP'S 80 MG. THESE PILLS JUST DO NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH THAT THE OC'S DID. I DO NOT ABUSE MY MEDICATION AND NEVER HAVE AS I NEED IT AND RIGHT NOW I AM VERY FRUSTRATED. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO US THAT THESE PILLS DO NOT WORK? WILL WE GET OUR OXYCONTIN BACK. I AM A 51 YEAR OLD FEMALE AND ALSO HAVE EMPHYSMA AND THAT WAS THE ONLY QUALITY OF LIFE I HAD!! NOW I CANNOT GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AGAIN. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF WE ARE GOING TO GET OUR MEDS BACK OR WHAT IS HAPPENING?  THANK YOU

I'm also sorry to hear that you're not happy with the medication, but from what I've also heard and studied this medication is here to stay.  It does seem that your body will need to get adjusted to the medication.  I'm also hearing that some doctors have stopped prescribing the medication too, due to the fact the medication has been abused from people in the past.  I'm so sorry to hear that your not happy.  I would contact your doctor and ask them if there is anything else to put you on in addition to what you have.  Maybe he can give you something non narcotic to assist you with what you already have?  Good luck and please let us know how it turns out.

They added something to it to make it abuse proof.  The regular OC is not returning so far. their are some studies on the net about this, look it up. Sorry this is effecting you this way. When your doc writes your med's for oxycontin you will get the op's from here on out.

I'm not exactly sure what OP's are but it seems your doctor thinks they would cover your pain a well as the oxycontin.  What was the reason for the change?  When you ay "if we are going to get our meds back ..." it makes me think this is happening to more than you.  Has your doctor changed his policies?  I know some doctors here just don't prescribe oxycontin at all.

I think you need to give a little more information in your question o people have a clearer idea of what's going on with your situation.
