Drug testing

I have been reading about drug testing on the internet. I don't know if I will get one on my first appt or not, I have nothing to hide so it really don't matter. I just don't want to "hold it" for a long time in case I have to have one cause I can't go on demand lol
Anyway I also read that antibiotics can give off a false positive drug test? I had no clue about this. So Sherry if something comes up where you have to have a radom test remember this. Oh and this is your last day of them YAY!! So I am now wondering how many people out there got kicked out of a pain clinic cause of antibiotics.

Thank Jamie-- I appreciate you doing that search as I really haven't felt much like doing a lot of random searching.

I asked my wonderful PCP today about my upcoming test next week and the infection AND the antibiotics and he said he really didn't thing I have anything to worry about at all.
I have been concerned about it.

Molly and pmartin, I really appreciate the information that you gave!! All of this makes me feel much BETTER. Now if I'd just get my stomach to calm down!!

I just took my LAST pill. My Dr. felt that also it is a possibility that all of the upset may be coming from whatever is going on with my "plumbing".  :(

Thank you guys....Sherry

I don't think you have a thing to worry about. Stay true to yourself and your Doctor. Follow the rules to the tee. If you'd like, visit either me or Sandee's journals. We both have information on drug testing and what may cause a false positive or negative.

Goo luck,
Molly

I'd be willing to bet that the number removed due to antibiotics, would border close to zero. Once a positive result is flagged, a percentage analysis follows. And to think that any antibiotic would register an actual PA reading, would cause me to worry about the service company used, or the process itself. If you ever receive a positive drug test, when you know it's just not possible, then it's time to demand a re-test at another lab firm and result copies from the first. Proactive Proactive Proactive!
