Fentanyl

How long does withdrawal last? I have been on fentanyl for about one year, 100 every 48 hrs. This was prescribed for me after my cancer surgery.

MadMan, I truly appreciate your response. I'm new to the site & I'm using my phone. I don't know what happened or what I did to report your previous coment. I also sent the same message to the site. Truly sorry for the mix up. Praying that I didn't cause any problems.

Thank you TheMadMan. My primary doctor has prescribed subs . Used it once but DON'T want to continue to use because the doctor mentioned that they are even more addictive. I am in a state that has medical marijuana. It helps with most symptoms but not helping much with the stomach cramps.

Call your primary care doctor to get advise. They can be helpful when you are truthful with them. Don't do this alone with the symptoms you are describing?

Have you spoken with your doctor(s) about this?  Any narcotic should, if possible, be slowly tapered as physical withdrawal is quite unpleasant.  I did a fast taper that was not supervised by my doctor and it was less than ideal. Fentanyl can be a bit harder than Percocet, Vicodin, etc.  Drinking lots of water is essential as it is really easy to get dehydrated.  You can taper from the Fentanyl down and then cross over to a different immediate release narcotic and then taper down from that.

Are you taking anything else?  Where are you in your cancer journey? Hopefully you are in remission and no longer need the pain management.
