Inner ankel injury

I was knocked by a motorbike about 10 days ago. The inner shin was quite heavily bruised. it has now subsided and healing well. I got a tetanus shot and the doctor looked over my leg and foot and no suspected serious injury. However, my inner ankle ( where that bone sticks out and the large vein run down to the foot) started to hurt and it bruised and seems like it is not really getting better as I'd like. Is that normal being that I am very active and walking around - has anyone experience very slow recovery?

Hello,
Thanks for the advice. I came back from the doctor (I am in China ) and he said that its fine and will take like 100 days to get better(??) and the small dark colour is the result of minor bleeding under the surface.
Great website - I'm hooked :)_

Welcome to the Pain Management Community. I am sorry I am so tardy in my response. I don't know how I missed your post. Actually I missed two today...sorry.

You could be using your ankle to much and not allowing time for those injuries to heal. Are your resting it when possible and supporting it when walking? You may want to contact your PCP and update him on your slow healing.

It can take a long time to heal even a sprain, especially if you remain active. However if it continues or becomes worse you should see your PCP immediately. Sometimes it takes a while for all the injuries to "show."

Good luck to you and please let us know how you are doing. I will look forward to your updates. Take Care, Tuck
