Just reading

Had my surgery on Friday to remove the screws and wires from my hand.  I'm still having a lot of post-op pain, but they changed my morphine back to the oxycodone.  Originally I think it was for the post-op period but I'm going to talk to the pain clinic about sticking with this (though later spreading the doses further apart.)  Right now I'm taking 30 mg. oxycodone, one to one-and-a-half pills every three hours, and I definitely need them every three.  Sleep is still eluding me, but hopefully that will come back soon.

My favorite cousin is unexpectedly coming by tonight with his wife.  They went to Nantucket on vacation.  Any othr time, and I'd be thrilled. But I'm keeping things simple and not worrying about whether things are messy.

I'll post all that went on in the surgery when I can type a bit more easily.   I figure by next week I'll be back to posting and commenting.

I'm glad you finally got the surgery!  I hope you will be feeling a lot better soon.  The oxycodone, even at the high dose, really doesn't last very long for me, either.  I stretch it out to 4 hours, but sometimes just can't go longer than 3.  I'm glad it's working really good for you.  I have found it to be a good med, too.
I hope you're able to sleep soon and are able to get good rest to recover as soon as you comfortable can.

We miss you!!!!  I am so glad you had the surgery and will be happier when you get over the surgery pain.

This isn't the best time for company, is it?  Maybe they won't stay very long.  Or will bring you some dinner???  That would be nice.

We'll all be glad to see you posting again.  Take care of yourself!
