Bystolic gave my right shoulder and arm the same crushing pains, muscle weakness...especially at nights. I had no quality of life...I had to stop taking it...although pain is subsiding it still pains tertible even after 3 weeks of stopping taking it.
Hell Domt,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I have a feeling that I may be missing part of your post. Do you have chronic pain?
I know that many drugs are now used Off Label....meaning they were originally developed, manufactured and intended to treat one condition but were found useful for other conditions and are now prescribed accordingly.
Bystolic (Nebivolol) is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It is in a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood pressure.
If you mean that you are taking Bystolic and it is causing you pain....and according to PCP and literate it should not....I agree with you. Our systems can respond differently then others do to medications. We are all different...and respond differently. If you feel this medication is causing you pain then insist upon a change. There are similar drugs that may not produce the side effects that you are experiencing.
If I misunderstood your post please clarify what you meant....I do hope I understood you correctly. Thanks for posting and please keep in contact with us. Feel free to post again and respond to our other posters.
Take Care,
~Tuck
