Muscle pain

My husband has severe muscle pain on his arms and legs, like muscle spasms, it comes and goes for no reason, he is also always tired and has shortness of breath, he is 42 years old and maintains a healthy weight, what can this be?

Does he do any kind of narcotic Pain killers? Is he real active? Does his family have a history of Diabetes? Answer these so i might have a better view of his situation. Thanx....Talk to you soon :)

The shortness of breath should be checked out, definitely.  Does he lift weights or anything that might cause the muscle spasms?  Does he have joint pain?  It could be arthritis.
