New total knee

i had my knee replacement on the 13th of March 2015.  The question I have is did all of you swell up from your hip to your big toe?  The pain is like i have never felt before.  My ankle is all bruised on both sides and the back and outside of my thigh all the way into my calf if a deep colored bruise along with about six inches around my knee.  The doctor said this is normal so I thought I would ask people who have had this done already.  I have been icing it nonstop and tryin g to do some exercises but it is like I cannot hardly bring my leg up to elevate it without help.  It also stiffens right up after I get it moving.  Sleep is something in the past so I get it when i can.

No one has answered as this is not an orthopedic forum, but I think it is important for you to call your doctor and get seen.

This is saturday -- if you still have swelling and pain, go to the Emergency Department today.

You need to be seen.

I've SEEN the results of both knee and hip replacements.... the ENTIRE leg looks like it has been run over by a train (several trains, actually).
