On suboxone & in pain

I am a 68 yr old woman on Suboxone, 3 huge cavities and in pain. I understand that I must wait 3 days with no subs to face possible extraction. Will novocaine work? Will painkillers  work? What can I do to relieve the pain now? Tried ambesol. help!! in pain. thank you

whatever you do do not take any kind of opiate with Suboxone in your system!  You'll be BEYOND sick

I don't know much about suboxone but I think you should call the doctor who prescribed it and I'm sure he'll be able to tell you what's best to take for pain control.  I would imagine a high dose of ibuprofen would help a lot (800 mg.) alternating with Tylenol.  But check with your doctor about the dosages.  I've had extractions and serious root canals in the past and never needed narcotics.  I always just did lots of ice packs and the ibuprofen/tylenol combination.
