Have you ever had this pain before? Would be my first question. If yes, and with your young age, you may have developed arthritis in the joint of your shoulder and or may be experience some impingement. It results from pressure on the rotator cuff from part of the shoulder blade (scapula) as the arm is lifted as well as lowered.
I would recommend making a doctors apt. to rule this out and if it is whats going on get you into physical therapy. Always get a second opinion if your doctors results are questionable and surgery is always the last resort.

This is ONLY my opinion and I am not a doctor.
Hope this helps and Cheers back at you

Hi Lucky,

First let me welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad that you found us. Please understand that we are not Dr's , we are CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that share our experiences about our pain so it may help other people going thru the same things that we are.

i'm so sorry that you are having trouble with your shoulder while working on your laptop. That's a bad situation since we depend on our computers so much in our everyday life. I've noticed that once in a while I have had some twinges in my shoulder when I've been on mine and I tried to figure out exactly what I was doing differently than before and found that I was sitting at a different angle than normal. When I adjusted my position ti helped a lot. It went away after a short period of time.

I have no idea if that is what is going on with you but you might consider it. However, if that isn't the problem you might need to go to the Dr. and have your shoulder checked out. It might have been injured in some way and to be safe it's smart to check it out.

I'm sorry that I can't be of anymore help than that, however, there will be others on here with much better advice than I can give you, so just hang in here and I'm sure you will get a lot of help.

Best of luck and I hope that you will keep us updated on how your shoulder is doing...Sherry
