Hi Aishui,
Welcome. I'm sorry to hear that your fun time bowling has produced such pain and discomfort.
It's my guess this is a muscle strain. A muscle strain, pull, or even a muscle tear refers to damage to muscle fibers or its attaching tendons. It can be very painful. It often causes irritation of the nerve endings in the area. I am not a medical provider and if you continue to experience pain or it becomes worse you should seek medical attention.
If you have over exerted the muscle and structures in your coccyx and gluteal muscles you may find ice to the area will reduce the swelling and inflammation that has occurred. Ice is best applied at least 4-6 times per day or more often if time permits. Rest and avoid any activity that increases your pain. Protect the area.
As suggested by Molly, NSAIDs may also be effective but consult your pharmacist as to amount and type. Pharmacists are the experts in medication and a great source, and their service is free!
Again if your pain increases or does not subside please consult your medical provider. I hope you'll be feeling your ole self again soon. Good luck.
Take Care,
~Tuck
Hello aishui,
Sorry to hear of your troubles.
While I am not a Doctor, I'm able to give you my thoughts.
This sounds like a common problem with the lower back. When you were bowling, it may have been possible that you injured the sciatica nerve in the lower portion of your back. Health wise, this is a common problem that Doctors see all the time.
Also, you may have pulled a muscle in that area. This can easily happen when using the back muscles.
In cases like this, there isn't a whole lot that can be done. Rest is the prescription for these problems. Nsaids are also a help to take away any inflammation.
I would suggest that if this problem continues, that you seek Medical help from your Doctor.
This is just my opinion from a fellow member.
Good luck.
Mollyrae
