Hi Buggy,
You're right!! I have milked cows (more times then I can count) and know the up and downs that it involves. You're using your groin muscles.
I bet it's impossible to avoid milking.... if you could for three or four days it may help. But please see your physician and let us know how it goes.
Good Luck,
~Tuck

Hello Buggy,
Welcome. I went to your Profile Page to learn a bit about you and your pain but noted there is nothing on it. I hope you'll join us.
What tests have you had to assure the diagnosis is correct? Have you consulted a specialist or is this solely your PCP diagnosis?
"Pulled Muscle" is a general term and usually means a Muscle Strain. Tiny fibers actually tear in a Muscle Strain. A Muscle Strain occurs when you strain the "adductor muscle" group. This group consists of six muscles that run from the inner pelvis to the inner part of the femur (the large thigh bone). These muscles pull the legs together, and also plays are part in the motion of your hip joint.
There are grades (severity) of Muscle Strain from I to III. All grades are painful and take time to heal but the more severe the grade the more severe the pain and longer it takes to completely heal.
Knowing your sex would be beneficial as there are other possibilities that should be considered based upon it. Any additional information would be helpful. Is the pain better at all? Does your job physicial? Do you use your groin muscles a lot or do you have a desk job?
The key to healing a muscle strain is resting the part. Avoiding all activities that aggravate the injury and increase the pain is a must in healing. If you don't properly rest the injury you will prolong the healing process. Again he more severe the injury the longer the process.
There is no specific time frame for these injuries, It sounds like your physician has followed the proper procedure for treatment a Strain. However after 2 or 3 months you should see some improvement. Without knowing more this is all I can offer.
If you are dissatisfied with your progress a second opinion can only be beneficial. I wish you the best. Please feel free to offer additional information and let us know how you are doing.
Take Care,
~Tuck
