I'm sure the pain of surgery would take your mind off your shoulder pain for a while. Seriously though, please don't go randomly having bits of your body taken out. Whoever suggested this, ask for a full explanation, and get a second opinion. Ribs are not unecessary accessories to the human body, they are essential for protecting the organs behind them. Makes me almost wonder if this question is a joke? If it is not, you need to find a better doctor, fast.
