Neck pain and numbness in hands and arms

Hi,
I had a C5 fusion in my neck 30 yrs ago and am having a lot of pain and discomfort  and stiffness as well as numbness in my hands and arms. Any comments are welcome.

Ditto.  Whatever created the need to fuse the C5 and C? vertebrae in the first place, could perhaps be happening at another level?  Who knows.  Also, it could be carpal tunnel - or any myriad of causes.  A referral to a neurologist for testing would be in order - or even your orthopedic dr.  The surgeon though, might have preconceived ideas.  Best to go to someone with a broader perspective.  I wish you the best!  Jan

Thirty years is a long time and I would not contribute the symptoms your having now to that, I would assume you have new issues. I hope you will see your doctor and find out why this is happening to you. It is not wise to wait until the symptoms get worse.
I hope you will keep us updated:)
