This may or may  not be helpful, considering the possible causes you list--however I find some minor pain relief from a hot bath with epsom salts in it.  Epsom salt contains magnesium, which can really help with aches & pains in your joints especially.  Hope you get some relief!

I have gone through Failed Lumbar Surgery (4 Level Laminectomy) and still living with the Pain effects of that. I am praying this is not the Cervical Spine after failure with the Lumbar there is very little left in my Baloon. I am living with the Pains in the Legs, Pelvis, Butt waist down and don't want to even let my mind go in that direction. Bathing the hands with warm water, icing them, rapping them anything to relieve that pain at night because it flares up all my lower spine problems and all hits at once. When trying to overcome pain it is mandatory that one gets proper rest. Thanks to all who can respond!

Until you can see your doctor, you're stuck with over-the-counter anti-inflammatory meds like aspirin, advil or aleve.  Unless you have another underlying medical condition, these meds are safe to take daily.  A better idea would be to call your doctor's office for advice on what over-the-counter meds would be best for you to take, and at what dosage.

A great over-the-counter sleep aid (not painkiller) is melatonin.  It's been a big help for me over the years as I've dealt with chronic pain.  Hope you get some answers soon!
