What could be the cause of flank pain with fevers?

I have been suffering severe right flank/kidney/back/right side pain with swinging fever for two years. Last July i was found to have a pelvic mass which was successfully treated as an in parient. I had approx 8 weeks where i felt back to my old self, since then i have had recurring symptoms as above, i am hospitilsed every few weeks, they get symptoms under control with medication, i have had mri scan, ultra scans, all normal. Each time i go on antibiotic symptoms reduce, i am never fully well, i also have disc problems l4/5 s1/2 t8/9 t10/11, bulges and prolapses. My dosctors cannot find what is wrong, have you any ideas? i have no quality of life and becoming desperate. I would appreciate any help at all. Thank you

I think you may want to check and see why the antibiotics help. There are some diseases that require several months of antibiotics such as Lymes disease. This may be something you want to bring up to your doctor. Sorry I couldn't help more. Best of luck to you, Sissie
