Will Percocet work for pain?

Good morning people.  I am about to have surgery on my foot Tuesday and am scared nothing will work for pain as I am currently taking 60 milligrams of Methadone daily for maintenance.  He was going to prescribe me Percocet but am also afraid he will not give me anything because I'm on a program.  If he does, will Percocet even work?  What would be a good dosage for me?  Can anyone help me here?  I truly appreciate your time.  Thanks a bunch!
